ESPIRAL SPACES

MACBA is located a few minutes walk from the Rambles, Passeig de Gràcia and the Gothic Quarter. A true Barcelona icon offering 18,000 m2 right in the heart of the historic city centre, making it an ideal place for unique celebrations, surrounded by great international contemporary art.
The Museum’s facilities include the Meier Building – 15,000 m2 of diaphanous wide spaces of radical
modernity – and the Gothic complex of the Convent dels Àngels, a suggestive environment that is part of our historical heritage. The Museum opens onto the Plaça dels Àngels, an authentic open-air forum of activities for the people of Barcelona.
The diversity of spaces offered by MACBA can be adapted to all manner of events and formats: cocktail parties, gala dinners, trade presentations, fashion shows, film shoots and photo sessions. Most of our spaces have direct and independent access. Their versatility is suited to the creation of unique settings, while allowing our clients to travel in time from the Barcelona of the Gothic era to the radically contemporary city of today.
Besides taking place in exclusive surroundings, events can be complemented with Visits à la carte – private visits to the Museum exhibitions adapted to the needs of each client – as well as personalised merchandise.
MACBA can also provide functional spaces for business meetings, press conferences and conventions. We have the know-how to ensure that every event is a success for our clients.
MEIER BUILDING
The building, designed by Richard Meier and officially opened in 1995, is an imposing blank canvas for any event wishing to excel through its modernity and elegance. Versatile and luminous, it is the only such venue located in the city centre.

ATRIUM
The Atrium, a three-storey rectangular structure connecting all the Museum public galleries, is the most emblematic space in the Meier building. Its height allows us to enjoy the beauty of the architecture. Agora-like, majestic and slightly futuristic, it is the ideal place for cocktail parties and gala dinners, presentations, fashion shows, TV commercials, photo sessions and other large format events. A radically contemporary setting at the heart of the urban past.
MEIER TERRACE
The Meier Terrace offers a privileged view over the picturesque Plaça dels Àngels. A select environment for enjoying Barcelona outdoor life, with exclusive access from within the Museum.
MEIER AUDITORIUM
The Meier Auditorium, with independent access from the Plaça de Joan Coromines, provides a central meeting point, ideal for trade presentations, seminars, lectures, conventions, showrooms, cinema screenings and other activities. Its state- of-the-art equipment can undergo multiple configurations and be adapted to the typology of every event.
ROOM 0
Room 0, a multipurpose space equipped with the latest technology, is characterised by its clean and functional architecture. With direct access from Plaça de Joan Coromines, it is the ideal place for press conferences, business meetings, working sessions, courses, seminars and other small format activities.
CONVENT DELS ÀNGELS
A sixteenth-century Gothic building with an intensely rich history, the Convent dels Àngels has been the object of a respectful conversion conducted by the architects Lluís Clotet and Ignacio Aparicio. Belonging to Barcelona’s historical heritage, it is divided into several spaces, some of which can be counted among the most beautiful examples of Gothic architecture in the city.
