Casa Convalescència
The Casa de Convalescència, one of the last great works of Catalan Modernism, forms part of the complex of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau. The whole hospital complex, including the Casa, was declared Historical Artistic Monument in 1978 and World Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1997.

Description
The Casa de Convalescència, one of the last great works of Catalan Modernism, forms part of the complex of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau. The whole hospital complex, including the Casa, was declared Historical Artistic Monument in 1978 and World Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1997.
The construction of the Casa was supervised by Pere Domènech i Roura. Initially he worked with his father, Lluís Domènech i Montaner, and then took over as supervisor after the latter's death in 1923.
Located on the historical site of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, the Casa Convalescència building is managed by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Institutions like the Fundació UAB, the Fundació Doctor Robert, the Fundació Josep Laporte, UAB Idiomes Barcelona, the Ageing Institute and the Institut de Ciències de l'Educació de la UAB, all have their headquarters here.
Casa Convalescència offers a variety of spaces for the organisation of conferences, conventions, meetings, seminars, courses and other events. Fully endowed with all necessary services and equipment, the building also has its own restaurant and catering service.
Casa Convalescència consists of 6,245 m2 edified surface, distributed over four floors and a basement. In total there are 27 meeting rooms and auditoriums fully equipped with multimedia technology and supporting audiovisual material. The range of spaces offers room for groups from 15 up to 400 people, with the total capacity of meeting rooms and auditoriums around 1,000 people.
The Casa de Convalescència, one of the last great works of Catalan Modernism, forms part of the complex of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau. The complex was designed in the late 19th century to alleviate the shortage of hospital space in Barcelona. The hospital of Santa Creu, dating from 1401 and situated in the old city centre (Casc Antic) had become obsolete due the city's growth and breakthroughs in medicine.

UAB-Casa Convalescència is currently the headquarters of the Foundation of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (FUAB).

Casa Convalescència offers the following catering services: In-house restaurant to enjoy a quick sandwich for breakfast, lunches and a la carte dinners. The top floor hosts a room especially for groups.Tailor-made catering service for meetings and all kinds of events: coffee breaks, working lunches, gala dinners, aperitifs, cocktails and other propositions. Offered by Campus Càtering, which is at the disposal of companies and individuals in Casa Convalescència and at the campus of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in Bellaterra, as well as at any other location.
